MDAFP and MACHO collaborated on a second live webinar on Tuesday, April 28 to highlight the role that local health departments (LHDs) play in shaping and coordinating the behavioral health system.
Members who attended learned from the following objectives:
- Describe the role of Local Health Departments as chief health strategists in the behavioral health system(s)
- Explain the structure and oversight functions of Local Behavioral Health Authorities (LBHAs) in Maryland
- Identify key components of the behavioral health continuum, including crisis care and the Sequential Intercept Model
- Recognize the range of direct behavioral health and social support services provided by LHDs
- Apply practical strategies to connect primary care patients with local behavioral health and social support
