September being recognized as Suicide Prevention Month and the beginning of the school year makes it an important time to focus on children’s mental health.
According to the CDC,
suicide is the second leading cause of death among children and young
adults ages 10 to 34. That's why MHAMD has prepared the tools and knowledge physicians need to support children who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts:
