Dr. Shana Ntiri was appointed to serve on the AAFP Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness in Family Medicine (CDEI-FM) as Chair after 3 years serving as a member on this commission.

"I am honored to serve as the Chair of the AAFP Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness in Family Medicine. Advancing diversity, equity and inclusiveness in family medicine is essential to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally responsive care. I am committed to fostering a more inclusive profession where every voice is heard and I look forward to working alongside family medicine colleagues from across the country to enhance the future for our profession and our capacity to care for the patients and communities we serve."

Dr. Ntiri will oversee the commission's crucial work of leveraging diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and anti-racism lenses to inform the AAFP’s policies and address disparities in care, health, and workforce. Having previously served as a member for three years, her insight and leadership will be invaluable as she guides the commission toward its goals.

With her experience as a past MDAFP president and an AAFP delegate, MDAFP is certain she will continue to drive positive change and ensure family physicians and their communities are well-served.
