Family physicians now have a new pathway to renew their board certification - an alternative to the high-stakes, one-day exam. Family physicians can instead participate in a longitudinal assessment pathway offered by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), which first piloted it in 2019, and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFB).
