notable things in the areas of leadership, advocacy, community and public
health are suitable for the Membership Spotlight.
We invite you to nominate MDAFP Family Medicine colleagues, mentors, resident, or students who you believe model exceptional leadership in primary care, in their practice, communities, or workplace. We accept self-nominations as well!
The deadline for submissions are on the third of each month. Submissions after will be used in the next month's edition of the capsule.

Dr. Robin Motter-Mast, current MDAFP Vice-President, has been inducted as President of the Baltimore County Medical Association. Additionally, she was honored as one of the Top 100 Women of Maryland in 2025. We congratulate and celebrate Dr. Motter-Mast on her recent achievements; her leadership, accomplishments and dedication to healthcare is an inspiration!

MDAFP member, Dr. Joey Nichols has been appointed to the Maryland Substances Task Force, as Chair of the Economic Impact Committee. In his role, he works with economists from Johns Hopkins University evaluating the social and economic consequences on a wide range of policies. Best wishes Dr. Nichols on your achievement!

Dr. Ariel Warden-Jarrett joined Good Day DC with a look at some ways you can prevent cold and flu this fall. Dr. Warden-Jarett's is MDAFP's Board Chair, Past President, and Chair of the GAC. Let's honor Dr. Warden-Jarett's contributions and efforts on Good Day DC to help the community stay healthy this season!

Join us in congratulating Dr. L. Latéy Bradford who will be attending her first Society of Teachers of Family Medicine annual conference as the recipient of the New Faculty Scholars Award. Dr. Bradford has proven herself to be a catalyst for inspiring future teachers and leaders of family medicine. We are honored to have physicians like her to be involved in our membership.
