Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA)

The Maryland Academy of Family Physicians is excited to offer in-person American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)-endorsed Family Medicine Certification knowledge self-assessments (KSA) group studies. This program is limited to the first 30 members who register. Additional registrants after 30 will be placed on a wait list. Wait-listed registrants will be refunded in full if they do not get into the session

Completion of a KSA provides participants with 10 certification points towards their ABFM certification requirement. In addition, these activities are reviewed by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for Live Prescribed continuing medical education credits.

As sessions become available, more information will be posted directly below.

Virtual KSAs

The Maryland Academy of Family Physicians, in partnership with the Ohio chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP), is excited to announce two virtual, American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)-endorsed Family Medicine Certification knowledge self-assesment (KSA) group studies this year.

This innovative program will use a robust web-based system that will allow family physician learners from across the country the opportunity to complete the KSA while engaging their peers and an expert content leader from a location of their choosing.

These virtual learning sessions offer an innovative method for delivering a KSA nationwide to a large group of physician learners at the same time. Completion of each KSA will provide participants with certification points towards their ABFM certification requirement. In addition, these activities will be reviewed for CME credits once available.

How Does it Work:

Participants will use an online polling system to work through KSA questions without palliative care expert.

Our main goal is to pass the exam, with an expert speaker offering assistance when questions arise.

First, questions will be displayed giving participants approximately 30 seconds to respond (time varies based on speed of participant response).

Next, results will be displayed and discussed.

Finally, answers will be submitted as a group and individuals will be credited for completion of the knowledge self-assessment, once evaluations have been submitted.
